We have big news – we’ve raised more than $1 million dollars in 2017 to help people in need! This is the first time RedBasket.org has raised this amount in one year.
“We are thrilled with the success we’ve had this year,” said Mary Katherine Smith, president of RedBasket.org. “Raising one million dollars in one year is a great milestone, and shows the compassion donors have for our fundraisers. We’re all truly grateful.”
How We Help
RedBasket.org provides a free crowdfunding platform for people who need to raise money for personal emergencies or community improvement projects. Individuals can share their stories, recruit volunteers, and fundraise for medical expenses, disaster relief, or to improve their communities. RedBasket.org is able to offer this unique service thanks to the generosity of WoodmenLife. WoodmenLife covers all administrative and overhead costs, including the processing fees normally associated with crowdfunding.
“RedBasket.org was founded as a way to bring WoodmenLife’s giving spirit into the online era,” said Pat Dees, President and CEO of WoodmenLife. “RedBasket.org and WoodmenLife share a commitment to serving our communities and we are proud to support this organization.”
Grants Paid Out
Another milestone RedBasket.org reached this year was paying out one million dollars in grants to fundraisers. Because of WoodmenLife’s sponsorship, all donations received go directly to the fundraiser and are tax-deductible. These grants have allowed fundraisers to recover from devastating medical diagnoses like cancer, rebuild their homes and towns after Hurricane Harvey, and restock the shelves of local food pantries.
“Being able to see the direct impact of our work is rewarding,” Smith said. “We hope to continue this trend next year and beyond.”
