In the past 6 years, RedBasket.org has been privileged to assist people and communities with their fundraising needs. In that time, as an independent organization, we’ve raised more than $4 million to provide payments for lifesaving treatments, rebuild homes after natural disasters, and revitalize communities across the United States. Now, we are ready to begin a new phase.

Originally developed as an independent way to bring WoodmenLife’s tradition of giving into the online era, RedBasket.org, an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) entity, had a primary mission to help individuals fundraise. From the beginning, WoodmenLife sponsored Red Basket’s operations and allowed us to remain the only 100% fee-free fundraising website in the United States.

So it was only natural for us to ask WoodmenLife to help us expand our efforts to help more people and more projects. With that goal in mind, at the beginning of 2019, RedBasket.org will transfer its crowd-funding platform to WoodmenLife to create a new Community Outreach program. This new crowd-funding program will allow WoodmenLife the opportunity to build on what RedBasket.org started and expand their fundraising efforts to a larger audience and continue WoodmenLife’s tradition of giving back.

Due to this impending transition, the last day RedBasket.org will accept new fundraising applications is September 26, 2018.

How does this affect current fundraisers?

The last day RedBasket.org will accept story donations will be November 18, 2018.

RedBasket.org will continue normal operations through that date, so if a fundraiser is currently running, there will be no interruption to the campaign. All donations received will still be considered tax-deductible, but as always, we advise consulting with a tax professional. Additionally, RedBasket.org will still require receipts to be submitted within one year and one day of receipt of the funds raised.

How does this affect donors?

Contributions made in 2018 will still be considered tax-deductible and you will still receive an email receipt. WoodmenLife members may still use their member match on RedBasket.org if they have not used it already in 2018. Checks sent to RedBasket.org at 1700 Farnam St. must be received by November 21 to be applied to the appropriate project.

The entire team at Red Basket is thrilled to see its platform become part of WoodmenLife and hope to see many more successful fundraising campaigns in the near future. If you have any questions or need more information, please don’t hesitate to contact your Red Basket team at 877-969-7378.
