Happy New Year! Did you know that out of the 45 percent of Americans who make New Year’s resolutions, only eight percent of people manage to achieve them? Rather than trying to completely overhaul your life, experts suggest making simple goals, like walking 10 more minutes a day or turning your phone off 15 minutes before bed.

One simple resolution is donating more to charities or causes that mean something to you. RedBasket.org has taken all the guesswork out of supporting the fundraisers on our site, making it easy for you to give without worry. Here are a few of the ways we’ve streamlined the process:

  • We don’t charge any fees to the donor or the fundraiser. We’re very fortunate to be sponsored by WoodmenLife, who pays all of RedBasket.org’s operating expenses. This sponsorship allows us to offer a totally free fundraising website, and give 100 percent of the money raised to the fundraiser.
  • We vet our fundraisers carefully. Only fundraisers who are truly in need of financial assistance after experiencing medical hardships or natural disasters are published on our site. We collect documentation, such as medical bills or contractor expenses, and we call references to ensure your donations go where they should.
  • We offer online donation options. In fact, that’s what we prefer! You can easily donate to our projects by visiting www.redbasket.org/give.
  • We are a 501(c)(3). Because of our public charity status, you may be able to use your donation as a tax deduction. However, everyone’s tax situation is different, so be sure to discuss your charitable giving with a trusted financial expert to ensure your donation will be counted as expected.

Our fundraisers depend on donors like you to help them get back on their feet. Thank you for your generous support, and we hope you’ll continue to choose RedBasket.org as your fundraising resource.
