RedBasket.org announced their partnership with the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) as their official crowdfunding partner. This relationship will allow Scouts who are pursuing the Eagle Scout award to raise money on a fee-free platform to complete their Eagle Scout Projects.
“We’re thrilled to be working with the National Eagle Scout Association and to provide the scouts with a platform to fund their projects,” said Mary Katherine Smith, president of RedBasket.org. “Seeing these community improvement projects in action across the country is inspiring, and we are proud to feature them on our website.”
The partnership started with a pilot program in 2015. Scouts in Virginia and North Carolina had the first chances to use RedBasket.org to raise money for their projects. Since the program’s nationwide launch in 2016, 10 Eagle Scout projects have been hosted on the site. These projects have raised nearly $10,000 to benefit food banks, animal shelters, schools, and more.
“Partnering with RedBasket.org has already proven to be a great relationship, and we look forward to more prospective Eagle Scouts securing funding for their projects through this site,” said Dustin Farris, director of the National Eagle Scout Association.
The National Eagle Scout Association is a Trusted Partner with RedBasket.org, which means the scouts’ projects have already been verified and do not require additional vetting. Because of this unique process, RedBasket.org is able to publish the projects faster as a result. RedBasket.org also does not charge fees that are sometimes associated with other crowdfunding platforms, allowing the Scouts to receive 100 percent of their donations to use toward their projects.
