#TipTuesday: Head to the Firing Range

We don’t want you to shoot in the sense of “Ready. Aim. Fire!” We want you to shoot more like “Lights. Camera. ACTION!” Shooting a video is one of the best ways to showcase your RedBasket.org fundraising campaign, get those shares and re-tweets, and bring donors on board. Don’t let the idea of making a video turn you off. They don’t have to be time or budget intensive. And action…

Take 1: Don’t wing it! Rehearse – be sure to include the who, what, when, where and why people should care and keep it short. You typically have 1 to 2 minutes before people will lose interest.

Take 2: Grab your smart phone, digital camera or tablet and shoot a video telling your story. If you need help, try the iMotion HD app – it’s free! Make sure the audio quality is good. Buy a clip on mic if needed.

Take 3: Don’t forget the ‘ask’! Make sure you include the URL to your RedBasket.org fundraising campaign. You want a way for people to be able to help you after they view your video!

Take 4: Post the video everywhere – your RedBasket.org campaign page, social media, email, You Tube
