#TipTuesday – Make a Project Update

You’ve completed the initial steps to get your RedBasket.org fundraising campaign up and running. Your campaign is published. You’re receiving donations and notes of encouragement. Now is the perfect time to post a project update via your RedBasket.org account.

Project updates are an essential way to keep supporters informed about how you’re doing and are also a great way to thank people and encourage them to spread the word about your RedBasket.org fundraising campaign. Making frequent project updates also shows potential donors that you are dedicated to your fundraising and that you have a legitimate need for donations. Including photos and videos with your update helps engage supporters and makes them more likely to share your story. (Hint: When you make a project update, we occasionally share it on our RedBasket.org social media channels which is a bonus to you!)

Posting a project update takes just a few minutes – type up a quick message, attach a photo or video, click “Publish” and there you have it! Your update will be added to your RedBasket.org campaign, and best of all, your supporters will receive email notification that there’s been new info added to your campaign.

So…don’t just sit back and expect your fundraising to take care of itself. Be proactive throughout your campaign by posting frequent project updates to keep supporters informed. In fact, get started on your first one:

Login to your RedBasket.org account

–Click on your name in the upper right hand corner

–Under ‘Your Projects’ select the project that you with to update

–Click on ‘Project Update’ on the right hand side

–Click on the ‘Create New Update’ button

–Choose a title, type your update, add a photo or video and click ‘Publish.’
